Over the past 20 years, we’ve worked with many major water industry clients, including Yorkshire Water, to help them successfully deliver major projects.
This has often involved us designing and supplying carbon steel pipework coated with fusion-bonded epoxy coating, which is widely recognised as the coating to use for drinkable water.
We have a strong background of working with partners and clients to design and install waste water solutions for housing developments, industrial sites and other major projects in the UK and overseas.
Products we design and supply include half-bridge scrapers and a wide selection of drainage and sewer pipes.
Recently, we supplied pipework measuring 2,500mm in diameter and 25mm thick for the Thames Tideway Tunnel, London’s new super sewer which runs under the River Thames.
During the past 10 years, we’ve increasingly worked with onshore and offshore oil, gas and petro chemical companies, as well as various utility companies.
This has involved us designing and supplying a wide range of bespoke pipework and fittings and other essential components, such as staircases, platforms and structural steel walkways of many different shapes and sizes. Whatever the project, we’re positive we can create the right solution.
George Green offers a full in-house service for the design and prototyping of pipework, machined parts and other metal components.
This includes the production of spool drawings and piping isometrics, a site survey service to provide 2D layout drawings, and the creation of 3D drawings and models.
Most of our design work is for original, bespoke products, so we welcome enquiries about any type of metal work and from any industry.
What we do
Our workforce includes fully trained fabricators and coded welders who work to the highest standards to make sure our fabricated metal products and structures meet all specified tolerances.
Our bespoke products are fabricated from a range of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, duplex and super duplex stainless steel, and Monel alloy 400, to the individual requirements of each customer.
We also carry out dimensional, material and weld testing to ensure every one of our finished products meets all the required standards.
Our fabricated products
We deliver and offload products weighing up to 7.5 tonnes, offer a full installation service for anywhere in the UK, and can often mobilise our highly experienced fitters, engineers and welders within 24 hours.
Our installation personnel includes:
We stock a comprehensive range of high-quality carbon, stainless and duplex steel pipes, flanges and fittings, which allows us to start work immediately following your order. We can fabricate any type of pipe, fitting or flange for you, and specialise in the off-site prefabrication of pipework and the design and manufacturing of modular pipework in sizes ranging from 15NB to 2,500NB.

George Green design and manufacture pressurised rotor storage containers. Primarily used for the safe handling and storage of very expensive spare parts. And these parts are predominantly turbine rotors and pump impellors.
In the turbomachinery industry, it is critical to protect and maintain spare rotors to ensure the capability of immediate installation. All components including the following are subject to damage when stored in an area without environmental control.

Home to George Green for nearly 60 years, our purpose-built workshop in Keighley, West Yorkshire, is over 10,000 square feet (approx. 930 square metres) in size.
Inside, it features two overhead pendant cranes with a safe working load of five tonnes each. This means at the same time we have the capability to manufacture fabrications with a total weight of up to 10 tonnes.
Our workshop also features premium quality machinery and equipment for the boring, drilling, turning and milling of metal work. These include a Kearns Richards SJ100 Table Type Horizontal Borer, Webster & Bennett 48″ and 72″ Vertical Borers and Colchester Mascot 2000 Lathe.
We have vast experience of manufacturing components and welded assemblies of various sizes, materials and levels of complexity.
The metal welding processes used at George Green include MMA, MIG, TIG and submerged arc welding for an extensive range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Our highly experienced weld team are all coded to BS EN ISO 9606 and take great pride in achieving the highest standards.
In our workshop, we have the following equipment installed to help meet the all-round needs of our customers:
